When a rebuild is not the right call — severe case damage, a very high-mileage engine, or simple economics — we source and install remanufactured or verified low-mileage replacement transmissions.
Sometimes replacement beats rebuilding: the case is cracked, hard parts are obsolete, or a strong remanufactured unit is available at a better price than a full overhaul. We source remanufactured transmissions built to updated factory specifications, as well as verified low-mileage used units for older vehicles where that is the economical choice.
Installation quality matters as much as the unit itself. We replace the torque converter, flush the cooler and lines (skipping this is the number-one killer of replacement transmissions), fit new seals and fluid, and complete the factory relearn procedure so the new unit shifts the way the manufacturer intended.
Every replacement comes with a written warranty on both parts and labour, and we will always show you the rebuild-versus-replace math before you decide.

How much does it cost to replace a transmission?
It varies widely by vehicle: from roughly $3,000 installed for common domestic units to $6,000+ for European or hybrid applications. We quote the unit, labour and fluids as one firm number — no surprises.
Remanufactured vs. used — what do you recommend?
Remanufactured units include updated parts and the strongest warranties, and are our default recommendation. A verified low-mileage used unit can make sense for older vehicles — we price both so you can choose.
Is it worth replacing the transmission on my car?
As a rule of thumb: if the vehicle is otherwise sound and worth more than about twice the repair cost, fixing it is usually cheaper than replacing the car in today's used-vehicle market. We will give you an honest read either way.
