My Jeep Cherokee shifts terribly — is that just how it is?
Partly design, partly correctable. Software updates, adaptation relearns and healthy fluid noticeably improve the 948TE. Hard faults in the valve body or clutches are repairable. A diagnostic separates 'character' from 'broken'.
Grand Caravan transmission failed — fix it or scrap the van?
The 62TE rebuild is well understood, parts are plentiful, and a rebuilt van with a warranty is usually far cheaper than any replacement vehicle. If the rest of the van is tired we will say so.
